Targeting Like No Other Network

How DOOH advertising reaches a wider range of audiences than other advertising networks

In our last blog post, we explained exactly what DOOH advertising is and a little about the benefits advertisers can receive from using DOOH advertising. Something we haven’t touched on yet, though, is how you can use our DOOH network to target different audiences.

Something that sets our DOOH network apart is the variety of locations our screens are placed in. This is great for advertisers as it means that there are lots of different demographics that they can target through advertising with us. What’s more, you pay for your advertising by impressions, not screen time, meaning that advertising with us is fantastic value for money.

Below, we’ve broken down some of the major industries that our DOOH advertising network covers and given insight into the consumers that can be reached. If you have any further questions or would like to enquire about advertising with us, give us a call on 0800 058 4275 or email us at info@bluebillboard.co.uk.

Health and beauty

We have Blue Billboard screens in Medical reception areas, adult care centres, health and fitness clubs, head offices in the healthcare sector and hairdresser and barber shops. The great thing about all of these venues is that they have a high customer dwell time, meaning that people spend a lot of time there. So they will be exposed to your advertising for significant amounts of time, making it more likely that they will remember your message.

It’s also worth noting that people that are in these health and beauty locations clearly care about their health and/ or appearance and want to improve it. So these locations are a great place to advertise products/ services that promote a healthy lifestyle. There’s also a higher likelihood that the people visiting the health / beauty venue are going to have more disposable income.

Advertising in these venues offers a great return on investment (ROI) too as the average cost of 1,000 impressions is just £2.26.

Retail

The retail environment is extremely diverse. It’s also one of the rare places you’re able to target people when they’re close to the point-of-sale.

Although there is a lot of talk about online shopping and how more and more consumers are choosing to buy online, many businesses don’t realise that a big portion of consumers actually go into a physical shop before buying online. The reasoning behind this is usually because they’re unsure of what they want and so head into a shop to see the physical items for themselves. At this stage of the buying process, consumers are open to other options and generally, when in a physical shop, are browsing what’s on offer.

Advertising to consumers when they are already open to different options can be hugely effective as they’re open to being persuaded. Even if the solution you’re presenting them with is for a problem they aren’t in the shop to solve, it can still be highly effective.

Leisure venues

The biggest factor that works in your favour when you’re advertising to consumers in a leisure venue is the consumers’ good mood. Our screens are placed in fitness clubs, gyms, cafes and football and golf clubs. More often than not, people in these venues are in a good mood as it’s proven that many good mood endorphins are released during and after exercise.

Consumers in a good mood make faster, more impulsive decisions and rely more on heuristic cues (Schwarx 1991, Garner 2004). Which means they are more likely to carry out your call to action; whether that be visiting your website or getting in touch with you because they are happy to discover or learn something for themselves.

What’s more, research has found that people in a good mood are more persuadable because they don’t do any effortful thinking (Schawtz 1990). This makes a leisure venue a fantastic place to advertise your product or service.
